<p>Juan Campos</p>

Juan Campos

Secretary Treasurer/Principal Officer

Juan Campos has been a Local 705 member since 1989 when he started as an unloader at UPS in Northbrook.   He went on to work as an Air Driver and then Package Car Driver.   Juan became a steward in 1999 to fight for his fellow co-workers against UPS abuse.  Juan ran for Recording Secretary in 2003 against the incumbent leadership of Local 705 to bring change and militancy to the Local.  He served as UPS Coordinator and Business Agent.  He oversaw the Local 705/UPS Panel and was Chair of the past four Local 705 UPS contracts that have delivered huge gains in wages, working conditions, and pension increases.   

In 2011 he was appointed Secretary Treasurer and was elected to the position in 2012, becoming the first Mexican-American Principal Officer in Local 705 history.  He has been re-elected as Principal Officer 3 times.  Juan is trustee of the Local 705 Health & Welfare and pension funds.

As Principal Officer of Local 705 he has negotiated industry leading contracts throughout the Local. A strong advocate for organizing the unorganized, under his leadership over 3,000 new members have been organized into Local 705.

When Juan became Principal Officer, the Pension fund was in the red.   By negotiating and enforcing strong contracts, he delivered more money and participants into the fund.  The pension fund went from Red to Green.  In his tenure, Local 705’s pension has increased from $750 million to $1.8 Billion!     

Campos is a graduate of DePaul University’s Labor Leadership Program and has attended numerous labor education programs including at The University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, George Meany National Labor College, and Teamster Leadership Academy.  A strong believer that an educated membership strengthens our union, Local 705 has sent dozens of members to attend DePaul University and other labor education programs.  Juan serves on the DePaul University Labor Education Advisory Committee.   

In 2021 Campos was elected as International Vice President At Large and in 2022 appointed IBT Tank Haul Director.  In 2023 he was elected Secretary Treasurer of Teamsters Joint Council 25.

A native of Chicago, he was raised in the West Town neighborhood.  Juan served in the Navy and is a proud veteran.  As a union leader in the Local and International, Juan has never forgotten where he comes from, bringing the same passion for the members he had as a union steward and member.  Local 705 is known throughout the Teamsters as the most militant Local in the country because of the leadership of Juan and his team.

Ken Emanuelson

Ken Emanuelson joined Teamsters Local 705 in 1984 as a Part Time UPS worker.  He later became a package car driver in the Addison building.   He worked as a package car driver for 14 years in the Aurora Center, serving as Steward in the Addison building for 7 of those years.  Ken was appointed Business Agent in 2004 and was later appointed and then elected as a Local 705 Trustee.   He was appointed and then elected as Recording Secretary in 2012.   In 2018, he was elected President of Local 705, and was re-elected in 2021.   Ken also serves as a Trustee of the Local 705 Health & Welfare and Pension Funds.  

A graduate of DePaul University’s Labor Leadership Program, he has attended over 500 hours of class training including arbitration, brief writing, contract negotiations, and train the trainer courses.   He has trained numerous Agents and Stewards on panel and arbitration presentations.

Ken is a fierce and effective advocate for 705 members at panel. He serves as Local 705 UPS Coordinator and oversees all UPS Panel cases.  He has presented over 60 contract language cases at arbitration and over 200 termination cases at Panel.  Ken has been Co-Chair of the past 4 Local 705 contracts and was a member of the most recent National and Central Region UPS Contract Committees.

In 2022, he was appointed a Central Region Representative for the IBT Package Division.

Greg Foster

VIce president

Greg Foster started his Teamster career in 1987 as a City Driver at Roadway Express.  He quickly became a member activist, participating in the Volunteer Organizing Committee on multiple organizing drives.  He became a steward at Roadway in 1995.

Greg became a full time Staff Organizer in 1998.  He was elected Vice President in 2003, and has been re-elected 6 times.   He has served as a Business Agent at many 705 companies, including ABF and US Foods.    Greg is Union Chair of the Local 705 Freight Panel, and has served on the IBT JAC Grievance Panel and Negotiation Committees.  Greg is a Trustee on the Local 705 Health & Welfare and Pension Funds.

Greg is a graduate of the DePaul Labor Leadership Program, and has attended numerous trainings including at the George Meany National Labor College, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plan Education and Training program.  


<p>Kim Obney</p>

Kim Obney is a proud 46 year member of Local 705.  She became a Teamster at UPS, working as a part time Loader, later becoming a Sorter, Address Correction Clerk and a High Value Associate.  Kim became a Union Steward in 1996.  

In 2007 she was appointed as a Business Agent, and later was elected as Trustee.  Kim has been a Business Agent for UPS members at CACH, Northbrook, Palatine and Skokie.  Kim presents and sits on the Local 705/UPS Panel, fighting for members in discipline and contract language cases.

A graduate from DePaul University’s Labor Leadership Program, she has also attended trainings at The University of Wisconsin, Madison, The National Labor College, The Teamster Leadership Academy and Advanced Arbitration at Cornell University.

Kim was on the 1997 705/UPS Negotiating Committee as a  union steward representing part time members.  As a Business Agent, she sat on the 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023 705/UPS Negotiating Committees. 

<p>Eddie Vallejo</p>

Eddie Vallejo

Eddie has been a member of Teamsters Local 705 since 1996 when he started working as a part-timer at UPS. He became a full-time UPSer in 2001.  Eddie has served as a union steward, volunteer organizer, Assistant Business Agent, Elected Business Agent, and Trustee. 

Eddie has participated and completed countless workshops and training in bargaining, labor law, negotiating, and arbitration. A graduate of the DePaul Labor Education Program, he also attended the University of Wisconsin School for Workers and The National Labor College.   Eddie is also an instructor for the Grace Carroll Rocky Mountain Labor School. 

He served on numerous negotiating committees including, Mauser, Brenntag, and UPS in 2013, 2018, 2023, as well as the 2023 UPS Teamsters National Master Agreement. Eddie serves on the DePaul Labor Education Advisory committee. He currently serves on the UPS/Local 705 Panel committee, presenting and hearing discipline cases. 

<p>Rich Rohe</p>

Rick Rohe became a member of Local 705 as a City Driver for Yellow.   He served as a steward at Yellow and was later appointed Business Agent, elected as a Business Agent, and appointed as Trustee.   

Rick has represented members at many companies including Freight, Cartage, Tankers, Sanitary District, Lumberyards, Pipe Supply, among others.

He has served on multiple industry Grievance Panels such as T.M.I., C.S.M.C.A., Construction, and Freight.  Rick is Union Chair for the MCLAC Central Region and on the National Bargaining Committee for AEI/DHL Global Forwarding.  He has managed multiple strike lines and organizing drives, including organizing and winning a strike for a first contract for 150 clerical workers at DHL.

Rick had the experience and passion to serve members at all of our Local’s members, not just one.  

<p>Kevin Moore</p>

Kevin Moore

Kevin Moore has been a member of Local 705 for 28 years.  He started his career as a part-timer for UPS at the CACH facility in 1996. After five years of working as a part-timer he  became a 22.3.  He was elected steward three times, and was appointed Assistant Business Agent in 2014.  In 2015 he was appointed as a full time Business Agent for the CACH Hub.  He was elected Business Agent in 2021.  Kevin also represents members at UPS Harvey and Lockport, Garda, and Pacific Rail Services.  

Kevin was Co-Chair for the Garda negotiation committee, helping secure a strong second contract for our members.  He presents and sits on the Local 705/UPS Panel.   He has been a negotiation committee member for the last 3 Local 705/UPS contracts, and was a member of the National Master UPS negotiation committee in 2023.

Kevin is a graduate of the DePaul Labor Leadership Program, and has attended training at the University of Wisconsin and George Meany National Labor College.

Kevin’s hard work, determination, and education has resulted in him settling thousands of grievances and returning hundreds of members to work after termination.


<p>Mike Jordan</p>

Mike Jordan

Business Agent

Mike Jordan started his Teamster career in 1986 as a City Driver for Roadway, where he served as a union steward.   He later drove in the Tanker industry for Nexeo Solutions, where he served as union steward and Assistant Business Agent.   Mike Graduated from DePaul University’s Labor Leadership Program, and attended classes at the University of Wisconsin.  In this time, he also worked as a Volunteer Organizer.  

In 2017 he was appointed Business Agent, and in 2018 was elected to the position.  Mike has represented workers in many companies and industries, including T Force, DHL, US Foods, Tankers, KeHe, among others.    

Mike served on the 2018 UPS Freight and 2023 T Force National Negotiations Committee.  In 2022 he was appointed as IBT International Representative for the Freight Division.   

In the last year, Mike coordinated 2 major strikes in Local 705 - DHL Express and US Foods.  These strikes were recognized nationally in the Teamsters.   

Local 705 represents workers at many companies and industries, not just one.  We need Business Agents like Mike and the Moving Forward team to advocate for ALL our members. 

<p>Al Wimunc</p>

Al Wimunc is a second generation Teamster. He started in 1986 as a City Driver for Yellow Freight.  Al was an elected steward, advocating strongly for his co-workers. He later did work for the Local 705 Volunteer Organizing Committee (VOC).  

Al is a graduate of DePaul University’s Labor Leadership Program and has attended trainings at the George Meany Center for Labor, the IBT, and the US Department of Labor.

In 2013 Al started working for Local 705 as a full time organizer. In that time, Local 705 has organized over 3,000 workers in the union. Al has been on the negotiation committees for numerous workplaces, securing first contracts that have changed the lives of thousands of workers.  

Most recently, Al coordinated the historic US Foods strike, sending strikers to over 20 cities across the country to extend our picket line. This effort delivered a great contract for our members.  

<p>Mike DeVega</p>

Mike DeVega is a 27-year Teamster. During that time, he worked at UPS as a Part-timer, a Package Car Driver and a Feeder Driver. Mike is a graduate of DePaul University’s Labor Leadership program and has also completed the University of Wisconsin’s Arbitration course amongst many other labor training. He has served as a Union Steward and an Assistant Business Agent for Local 705. Currently, Mike serves as a Business Agent for Local 705 at UPS and CSI.  He has served on the last 3 705/UPS Negotiation Committees.   

Mike served as Co-Chair of the 2023 Local 705/CSI Negotiations.  That contract delivered historic wages and pension increases.  He also served on the National CSI Negotiations Committee. 

Mike is the Central Region Area Coordinator for CSI with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

<p>Bill O'Connor</p>

Bill O’Connor is a 29 year Teamster. He joined Local 705 as a part time UPSer at O’Hare.  He went on to drive Package Car in Palatine, and has been at CACH Feeder for the past 10 years.   

Bill has served as a steward, Assistant Business Agent and Business Agent.  He is currently the Business Agent for CACH Feeder.   Bill was a member of the 2008 and 2023 UPS/Local 705 contract negotiations committee.  

He has attended trainings at DePaul University, the University of Wisconsin, University of New Mexico, and George Meany National Labor College   

Earlier this year Bill coordinated US Foods picket line extensions, traveling across the Northwest to help win our members a historic contract.
